Pippa is a veterinarian who, for over three decades, worked in companion animal practice. She likens this to an addiction: craving to help the animals in her care, whilst at the same time challenging her mental health. With a passion for history, Pippa first turned to writing as a mindfulness exercise. She got a buzz and sense of purpose from the research, and by immersing herself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the 18th and 19th centuries could let go of current-day concerns.
Pippa cut-her teeth writing historical romance, under the name of Grace Elliot. She curated a popular blog “Fall in Love with History”. But her focus has shifted back to her original love, historical fiction, and invites you will join her on an adventure to breathe life into the past.
Pippa’s current project is “The Woman Who Paints Horses.” Set in the 19th century, this is the story of Grace Kingsley, a talented female artist, who must shake up London’s male-dominated art world if she is to gain rightful recognition. But can one woman change society or does success come at too great a personal cost?
