Pippa is a veterinarian who worked for over three decades in companion animal practice. She is currently a regional manager for Amivet exports and a team of Official Veterinarians based in the south of England. With a passion for history, Pippa first turned to writing as a mindfulness exercise and now regards herself as a time traveler. By immersing herself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the 18th and 19th centuries, the challenges of the past put the concerns of the present in perspective.
Pippa cut her teeth writing historical romance, under the name of Grace Elliot. She curated a popular blog “Fall in Love with History”. But her focus has shifted back to her original love, historical fiction, and invites you to join her on an adventure to breathe life into the past.
Pippa’s current project: The Woman Who Paints Horses.
London, 1850s
Grace Kingsley grew up barely knowing her notorious mother, Caroline. The latter fled an abusive marriage and instigated a sensational courtroom battle to see her estranged children. But Grace desires a different life to her late mother, one of self-determination as an artist. The story follows Grace and her sister, Frances, when they run away from a controlling father to pursue their dreams. All that stands in their way is prejudice, poverty, and a gutter press fascinated by the offspring of a scandalous mother.
